The Bus Driver

There are three times during each bus trip that you recognize the bus driver. The first is the moment in which you first step on to the bus. A courteous hello, an exchange of money, a wish for a good day. As you sit down and as he navigates through traffic and highways, you settle into the comfort of your seat and forget about him. Along with you, the illusion quickly settles in that the bus is driving itself.

The other time that you recognize the bus driver is when you get off the bus. A courteous goodbye and a thank you as your foot hits the street.

There is one other time when you are jolted into the realization that a driver is controlling the bus, and that's when he does something wrong. Through your justified outrage, you suddenly become aware that somebody's driving the bus, and how bad he is. Why did he take that left turn so fast? Didn't he see that curb? There is a speed limit, you know.

There are three times during your life when you recognize your Creator. The first is the moment that you are born. Slowly you gradually set into the illusion that the world operates itself.

The other time that you recognize your Creator is when you die.

There is one other time that you are jolted into the realization that the Creator is controlling the world, and that's when something goes wrong in your life. Through your perceived justified outrage, you realize that a Creator exists.
